CH Open calls Open Source, Open Data and Open Education projects to apply for the DINAcon Awards 2019. The Association for the Promotion of Open Source Software and Open Standards in Switzerland awards this prize to highlight the courage and innovative strength of companies, authorities, communities, developers and individuals. Projects can be submitted until July 15, 2019.

For the third year in a row, the DINAcon Awards will be presented at the Conference for Digital Sustainability (DINAcon). This will be awarded on 18 October 2019 at the Welle7 at Bern’s main railway station.

The prize will be awarded to the best open source projects that have already spread beyond the community to business, politics or society. A new category is “Best Newcomer”. Open Source projects that are not older than three years and offer exciting new approaches will be honoured separately. Companies, organisations or administrations that already successfully use open source software, provide open data or establish open standards can apply for the category “Best Practice”.

In addition, there are two special prizes: “Open Data” awards the best projects that create added value for society on the basis of open data), while the “Open Education” prize will go to a project that makes the greatest contribution to creating open educational opportunities for the general public.

Applications will be submitted via the DINAcon Awards website. The deadline for entries is Monday, 15 July 2019. The winners of the DINAcon Awards 2019 will be announced at the conference of the same name on Friday, 18 October 2019 at Welle7 in Bern. All winners are automatically nominated for the swissICT’s “Digital Economy Awards“.
